A Day Becomes Me - Sonnet 3
--- --- ---
A Ford, a paycheck, wedding ring in hand.
A row of books that stand the test of time.
A concrete stave of study, man-to-man.
A road ahead, and gravel left behind.
A strut astride a stage, maroon and steel.
A love concedes, another wills to try.
A count, a cadence, sounding off with zeal.
A coffee shop and Catcher in the Rye.
A school bus carries vagabonds and earls.
A pot and pan aid infant passions bloom.
A game of Jacks with neighbored Muslim girls,
And wond'ring why such portions seem so few.
A many stories score my life thus penned;
A many more will make me in the end.
