Frontier of a New Mind - Sonnet 5
--- --- ---
When I was but a youth in all regards,
I begged my father for a life of much
Technology, a feeble house of cards
That, proved, be less relief and more a crutch.
The pinnacle of a mysterious world
That I had never tasted nor had touched
Seemed, strongly then, to drape its siren urge
Around my neck and toast its spectral cup.
Yet, realization dawned upon my eyes
When lavish dopamine infused its mark
And many years of use did pass me by,
And discipline gave strength to my weak heart.
How wisdom grasps us when, like shifting tides,
We step upon the frontier of our lives.
