Everlasting - Sonnet 60

She is the sunrise, true enlightenment
When past and future merge within her eyes
And yours, if graced a vision of a time,
Held in her palms as ever Heaven sent;
You are tried fairly, sin and virtue stored
Away to be revealed in her embrace
And with impeded wisdom in her face,
All at once a shield and a sharpened sword,
If yet she walks away unbothered still
Across the sweeping meadow of your heart
Spurring you onward, upward, in a start
Of wonder, more than wonder ever will;
For when you cross her everlasting plain,
Then you may know her love has come again.
